Black in colour with a creamy tan head and delicious roasted caramel and chocolate flavours. It's hearty, robust and everything a good stout should be.

Potente.

Pitch black. Almost no head. Low aromas: coffee, chocolate, liquorice, cola nut. Fresh, subtle, soft. Short-lingering.

Bottle at Pudel, Tallinn. Pours black with brown head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is sweetness, roast, malt, smoke, fruits. Flavor follows the nose. Finish is roast bitter. Overall: ok, but somewhat dead and boring brew.

375 ml bottle into pint glass, best after 4/21/2014. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy dark brown head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, raisin, plum, light smoke, light herbal, and roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt and fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, raisin, plum, light smoke/char, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Moderate amount of herbal/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, raisin, plum, herbal, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness, balance, and complexity of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy, smooth, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent foreign stout style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth to drink with a great creamy mouthfeel. A very enjoyable offering.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 16D). Bootle 37,5 cl - batch unknown. AROMA: moderate roasted aromas of coffee and cocoa. slight sweet and burnt background aroma. APPEARANCE: deep dark brown color and opaque. average light brown head with good retention. TASTE: moderate to high roasted grain flavour with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. imperceptible esters. medium-low bitterness with an almost dry and roasted finish. PALATE: medium-low body with average carbonation. OVERALL: a commercial stout with good aromas and flavours that would benefit from a fuller body.

Nose is chocolate, coffee, plum pudding. A black hole of a beer, no light escapes. It makes the room darker. Light brown head turning to soapy film. Taste is zingy on the tongue, body is quite light (Australian stouts tend to be light bodied). Aftertaste is dark chocolate leading to lingering hop bitterness. Really good. At 6.3% hides it well. You could drink these like lagers then have a little sleep. Goodnight...........
