Part of Fanzine #27, September 2019.
Say “Hello” and “Goodbye” to this decadent delicacy. A smooth, flavored Imperial Milk Stout of Monarch proportions. Waves of bitter and sweet wash across the palate, with erupting notes of toasted coconut, roasted coffee and hints of sweet crème brûlée. All melded into a malted tectonic plate.

Aloha – Hello I must be going.

Can at Jason and Tracey’s, Fanzine drop, 12/10/19. Pitch black with a well presented lasting tan head. Nose is Bounty Bar, dark chocolate, light spice, coconut shavings, light roast. Taste comprises sweet malts, liquid Bounty Bar, brown sugar melt, toasted coconut, toffee fudge, sweet but balanced. Medium bodied plus, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light boost. Solid well balanced and flavoursome impy stout that drinks well below its stated ABV ... @Leighton sums this one up well !

Light brown creamy head stayed on a treacle like body. Malt, lactose, spice & demerara aroma. Medium to full bodied, creamy & almost chewy on the palate with a light airy back. Heavy tastes of malt, dark liqueur, dark chocolate, sugar, syrup, berry, raisin & Christmas cake tastes.

Can at home from Fanzine Europe - pours black with a brown head. Sweet dark malty with opulent milky chocolate, some toffee and caramel fudge sweetness, sweet cakey malts, brown sugar, slick smooth mouthfeel and full body, light spice and layering's of coconut into the sweet malty finish. Gorgeous.

Coconut stout tasted from tap at BrewDog Brussels, thanks Danai! Thick and frothy, papery lacing, yellowish beige head, black robe with thin hazy burgundy edges. Aroma of indeed lots of coconut and ‘Bounty’ candy, black chocolate, hazelnut paste, treacle, chewing gum, chocolate milk, sweet pipe tobacco, brownies, brandy. Sweet onset, bit sticky even, sugary with an umami hint (but lightly so), soft carb, full and very creamy, clearly ‘lactosed’ mouthfeel, with the milk sugar adding milk chocolate aspects and supporting sweetness for the coconut aroma, which comes through quite strongly retronasally, in a sweet, candy-ish (Bounty) way. Still there is enough coffeeish roasted bitterness to prevent the finish from becoming overly sticky, even if the lactose sugariness clearly lingers, heated by a brandy-like alcohol warmth in the end. Quite exemplary coconut stout in Omnipollo’s pastry stout mode, but you’ll really have to love coconut. I do.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced via Fanzine. Pours oily black with an immense, cascading foamy beige head. Fantastic beer, lots of chewy chocolate, fudge, toasted coconut, a little coffee, soft earthy bitterness, nips of ash and liquorice, raisins. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, a little sticky, more gooey and layered chocolate character. Great depth, and dangerously drinkable. This is BrewDog, love them or hate them, showing they can toss out a top-shelf impy like it's nothing.

Can 330ml (Fanzine)
Opaque colour, small steady beige head and lace. Toasted, strong coconut aroma, some sweetness. Full-bodied. Toasted malts, dark sugar, strong coconut, lactose in the flavour. Quite sweet milky and too much coconut. Hides ABV very well.
