New BBP beer, a white IPA with only 0.3% alcohol, which to Belgian legislation counts as alcohol free. Can from the Delhaize Watersportbaan supermarket in Ghent. Thick and foamy, snow white, very mousy, stable, cobweb-lacing head, hazy pale yellow-straw blonde robe, looking like a witbier. Aroma of lemon zest, minerals, lime juice, dough, flour, gypsum, puddle water, hand soap. Crisp and zesty onset, refreshing lime juice and greenish banana effects, medium carbonated, with a light, supple, evidently rather thinnish body (but not as thin as one would expect at this ABV!), white-bready and wheat-soapy with a very prominent chalk- or pumice-like minerality underneath. Finishes with zesty and eventually somewhat rooty hop bitterness, pushing forward a lemon zest and lime flesh effect aromatically; ends powdery, softly but pleasantly hop bitter, rather pronounced ongoing wheat sourishness and a strong, powdery, chalky aspect. Very wheaty and very lemon-zesty, but also very chalky and soapy which I personally do not like. Not my thing, but I have to agree that this quest for alcohol free craft beer, though probably still in its infancy, is slowly beginning to generate interesting results and this product can certainly be an elegant, alcohol free alternative to 'real' IPAs.

33cl can from the brewery in Brussels. F: big, snow-white, almost good retention. C: straw blonde, hazy. A: citrus, lemon, bit herbal, mint touch, orange, mellow fresh tropical fruits, bit pine. T: light malty base, orange, bit tangerine, citrus, herbal, dry bitterness, soft carbonation, aroma is better but still very refreshing and good balanced for low alc. beer, enjoyed.

Pours very hazy yellow. Small white head. Smell is bit cheesy, malty but not very fresh. cornflakes come to mind. Taste is mildly tart, wheat, bit sweaty. Not very fresh. Noticeable absence of alcohol. Bit dry. Mild bitter touch.
