This is similar to the original Beer Geek Breakfast. However this version is fermented entirely in oak tanks. The oak imparts a different flavour profile than the original.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, many say, and if you are a beer geek there is no better way to start the day than with a powerful, complex morning stout.

The unique mix of oats and coffee gives this beer large body and power, while the coffee, at the same time, creates a nice balance.

Bottle 750ml (bought from Mikkeller&Friends, AIH40)
Opaque black color, good cloudy brownish head. Aroma has coffee and some licorice. Medium-bodied, soft palate. Probably mellowed with the age. Flavor is dominated by coffee, lingering harsh bitterness in the aftertaste although otherwise plesant mouthfeel. Leading a bit empty finish. I remember the original version for being better.

Good beer and old football games with Mads. Wild gusher - I should downrate this for ruining my carpet... black with a big, but disappearing tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and dried fruit. Sweetish dark flavour or coffee and chocolate with plenty of hop character and a touch of typical Anchorage funk.

GUSHER ALERT. Bottle @ Denmark-Greece 1989 World Cup Italy Qualification. Shared with Christian. Pours black with a gushing bubbly beige head. Foam all over - exploding like a Dutch micro. Coffee, wood, chocolate, and biscuit. Chocolate cake. Some mild funk perhaps. Tasty.

Bottle @ ZZT X, small sample, thanks all for sharing! Dark color, short head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, lactic, brett, funk. Slight sour in taste, bitter coffee. Not really nicely balanced and flavors dont seem to match properly.
