Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight.

Draft at GABBF. Black, brown head. Aroma of licorice and chocolate. Taste is smooth chocolate and coffee plus a hint of EtOH. Nice.

22oz bottle, 2009 vintage pours a very oily, viscous, opaque black with very little brown head. Nose has a ton of cherry, some smoke, a little grape, soy. Flavor is sweet, grapey, cherry liqueur, almost like a grappa, toasty. It’s missing a solid malt backbone. Full bodied, oily, warming finish. Good, but the malt base has aged out. It needed some extra sweetness or maltiness. A little too thin at this point.

Bottle at Ang’s birthday tasting, thanks to Grant. It pours opaque black, with a thin dark tan head. The nose is salted caramel, chocolate, toasted coconut, alcohol, vanilla and coffee. The taste is coffee, caramel, coconut, vanilla, roasted malt, chocolate, bourbon and wood, with a light sweet, roasty finish. Full body, creamy mouth-feel and fine carbonation. Good balance and well executed.

Bottle (2008 Vintage) shared at Craft Beer Co., thanks to Grant. Pours thick, dark brown with a beige head. Restrained roast aroma. Medium sweet flavor, lots of mocha, notes of hard alcohol and barrel, brownies. Great balance. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mild warm finish, further restrained roastiness, cocoa, brownies. Excellent stuff.(4.4)

Bottle at Bruce’s, thanks to the host. Yeah, this is an awesome beer. Quite sweet but still very dynamic, not too hot. Very drinkable. Love it. (4.3)

Bottle on Angs birthday. Thanks to Grant Curlow. Some roasted malt. Its a good impy stout, very roasty, great smooth mouthfeel. On a night of lots of impy stouts, this one really stood out.

2008 bottle thanks to Ben! Poured an oily black with a dark brown head that lasted throughout the beer, beautiful. Aroma was full of dark grains and roasted malts as well as a bit of dark fruit and some earthiness/whiskey. Flavor had a bit more earthiness with the dark grains and roasted malts and was complimented nicely by the dark grains in the finish.

2008 bottle. Opaque black with a tan head. Coffee and chocolate aroma. The flavor follows the aroma. A very good Imperial Stout but couldn’t keep up with the Old Hickory The Event Horizon that preceded it in the tasting.
