Bottle of 2020 - broke open with neighbor. Incredible - lovely in every way. Wish I had more.

Quand Perennial refait sa version de Hunahpu - cela donne Abraxas - encore mieux quand cela est remis en barrique en rye whisky.
Noire huile de moteur, huileux filament doré au verre, col fin peu tenace moka.
Arôme complexe fortement sur le chocolat et rehaussé par l'apport de la barrique qui envoie une tonne de boisé et qcq fins effluves de vanille - généreux, chocolaté pâte à tartiner, ganache épaisse de cacao - retour délicat de cannelle avec un effet épicé de ancho plus discret qu'en bouche.
Palais est épais avec une grosse baffe maltée tout au long cela part vers une grosse dose de chocolat - onctueux cacao avec un excellent mariage de la barrique - repris par une petite pointe de chaleur des piments ancho sans pour cela verser dans le surfait - note de cannelle en support - presque une boisson à déguster pour le Dia de los Muertos.
Smooth, creamy and slightly lactic with some cinnamon, spices, roastiness, hints of vanilla, chili and barrel notes. Soft and sweet, a bit too much lactose once again. Not bad, but I still prefer the drier 2018 vintage

On tap at the brewery. Home from SF with my daughter visiting my parents and saw this in the menu. Get to bring a bottle home as well. So well blended and beautiful. The chilli has receded nicely to blend with the chocolate, vanilla, and whiskey aspects. Wonderful all around.

Аромат на удивление не особо мне понравился по началу, очень маслянисто и йодисто, умеренно сладко, шоколад и какао, не сильная бочка опаленная. Вкус совершенно иное. Удивительное нежно-маслянистое тело раскрывает глубину бочки с её слегка обжаренным деревом. Снова небольшая йодистость, сладость от ванили прежде всего, шоколада меньше, а какао очень скоротечный. Послевкусие с корицей и доп шоколадом, снова немного жарености от бочки. В целом один из лучших стаутов что я пил. Шикарно.
Spicy, sweet and slightly creamy lactic with some bourbony vanilla, cocoa and chocolate notes, hints of cinnamon, chili and coffee. A bit too sweet and creamy body, I prefer the older more dry and roasty vintages.

Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Fantastic. Creamy palate.

Flat, deep dark pour. Aroma is sweet sour-ish boozy, dark sugar, bourbon, bark, cinnamon, dark malts, raisins, vanilla, toast, chocolate, caramel. Taste is sweet boozy, dark sugar, cinnamon, chocolate, dark malts, bourbon, vanilla, oak, raisins, caramel, bark, toast, lactose. Medium bitterness, sweet boozy mouthfeel. Nice.

Pitch black colour with no head.Aroma is sweet and warming with taste of cinnamon and candy smooth warming taste and good hidden not of alcohol.

On tap at the brewery. Black with medium tan head. Nice deep chocolate, cocoa, light fruity notes, bourbon, spicy, cinnamon nicely integrated. Medium sweetness.
