Bottle at home. Aroma is malt, suprisingly potent smoke, spices, caramel, nuts, leaves, hint of dried fruits. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter. Body is medium. Nicely smoked and a bit spiced, tasty with leaves and notes of nuts.

Bottle. Copper color. Aroma of caramelised malt, smoke and earthy tones. Taste has caramelised malt, soft smoke, ripe fruit, sweet-ish earthy tones that remind me of mushrooms and yeast. Not bad, but could be more outspoken. Bit like a smokey bock.

Bottle. Color: Dark ruby brown, dense light brown head. Taste: Starting more on the sweet side, burned (chest)nut, red fruit, hints of smoke and bread. Finish is going to the more bitter and spicy side. Sticky mouthfeel. Nice beer but missing just a bit of balance and complexity in my opinion.

33 cl bottle served in white wine glass. Pours hazy reddish brown, off-white head. Aroma is strawberry jam. Period. Oily, slick, high-carb. Full-bodied. No bitterness in the medium to low lasting finish.

hazy dark amber colour, huge, approx 2 inches dense bright beige-ish head; aroma of moderate smoked cheese, roasted bread and some dried fruits (maybe plum); taste of (over-)roasted bread, smoked notes, some dried fruits, syrupy sweetness and mild lactic acid notes; correct beer, though I don’t really feel roasted chestnut in it

330 ml bottle, bb Jun 17. Thanks to my EU Local Swap 2/2016 sender Taboada!
Copper-brown, cloudy body, with a big, creamy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of smoke, caramel, candy, cola, nuts.
Tastes of caramel, chocolate, dark bread, roasted nuts, some smoke, some herbs.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes roasty, moderate smokey, with dark chocolate, toast, some herbs, alcohol warmth.
Nice one. Quite varied, with a good mix of roasty, sweet and well integrated, moderate smokey notes. Maybe not fully balanced, with a slightly harsh finish, while still an interesting beer.

Rather a murky brown look. Aroma has a fair amount of candy sugar, sweet fruit. Flavour has a bit hit of smoke. Slightly leathery and peaty even. They mention that there’s no smoked malts in this. Maybe the chestnuts were heavily smoked/roasted though. Nuts tend to add body and texture to a beer but not with this one. It’s interesting and fairly pleasant but just not quite right.

Bottle from Taboada, many thanks. Amber color with medium white head. Fruity, light sour aroma. Taste, malt, wood, chestnut, Brett, hoppy bitterness in finish.

Bottle at L?Artisanale. Very promising aroma but the taste does not live up to it not the least. It is astringent, poorly drinkable. Rerate bottle shared at a tasting. Moderately smoky, barely noticeable chestnut - it seems it drowned in the smoke. But otherwise it is more or less interesting and enjoyable.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy amber with a fizzy, quickly dissipating beige head. Aroma has some initial burned caramel which is quickly overpowered by a heavily smoky note. Solid, malty body, ashy, smoky note. I don’t really get much chestnut - just smoke and ashes. Hence not really much of a chestnut beer. 201015
