Castle Milk Stout has a thick texture, strong flavour and a full, satisfying and complex taste, with a hint of caramel. Dark roasted malt provides its distinctive dark colouring, and the creamy, smooth head comes from a special yeast.

Bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is very light, with toasted malt and a touch of cardboard. Flavour isn't too offensive, with cardboard, oxidized toasted malt and earthy notes. Not terrible but it's certainly not optimal.

Cocoa and toffee. Jet brown with a decent beige head. Toast and cocoa with a dry finish. Decent for what it is.

Bottle at home from Savannah at London Bridge station. Pours black with a decent off white head. Not much of an aroma on the beer, a little lactose maybe. Taste is sweet, bit of chocolate and coffee, plenty of lactose. Not a bad sweet stout.

From bottle brewed by Tanzani Breweries Ltd at Travellers Lodge Bagamoyo 24.02.16. Mocca colour. Fine pale brown head and lacing. Similarly fine aroma and taste, with mocca and dark malt. Moderate bitterness lingering on in aftetaste.

33cl can as a gift. Pours black with a modest beige head. Malty aroma with nice roasty notes, caramel, chocolate and milk. Medium sweet and surprisingly pleasant, not much bitterness to speak of, but works out anyway. Quite nice.
