Bottle at Bruce’s 30th celebrations, 08/02/13, big thanks to Paul for sharing this beast! Pitch black with a thin tan head. Nose carries dark roast malt, dark chocolate, molasses, peppery tones. Taste comprises dark chocolate, roast malts, pepper, booze, cocoa dusting, mineral tones, sugars. Full bodied, minimal carbonation, dry in the finish with a little sweetness. Excellent stuff! Eminently drinkable for such a high ABV Imperial Stout!

Bottle at the Brewdog AGM. It pours jet black, with a thick tan head. The nose is roasted malt, chilli pepper, caramel ,toffee, powdered cocoa, vanilla, smoke and earth. The taste is chilli (but not overdone), rich dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, toasted coconut, salted liquorice, vanilla, alcohol warmth, caramel, toffee and spice, with a sweet finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and a luxurious, slightly oily mouth-feel. Surprisingly smooth and very well balanced. There is definitely more chilli in this than AB:04, but they have managed to balance it out. A great beer. Delicious.

Re-rate Dog C from AGM 2014. Jet black, thin tan head, better carbonated than B for sure. Chilli heat builds nicely but doesn’t overpower this time, lots of dark chocolate notes too. Nice. Bottle of Dog B from Brewdog AGM 2013, shared at home. Pours jet black, but flat. No head. Fresh chilli peppers on the nose, liquorice, stone fruit. Taste of burnt sugar sweetness, then chilli burn. This just isn’t doing it for me, which is disappointing as I remember Dog A from the 2012 AGM being amazing.

(Bottle) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of cacao, coffee, liquorice, black rye bread, prunes, raisins and some vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with strong black coffee, cacao, dark chocolate, liquorice fudge, black rye bread, vanilla and a touch of chilli coming through after a while. Full body, slightly oily mouthfeel. A certain bitterness. Quite sweet. Loads of coffee and cacao, lots of taste. Quite drinkable and balanced for its strength, doesn’t really taste like 15%. Excellent beer.

Bottled 330ml. -from Magic Beer Room Zagreb as BrewDog Dog B. Pitch black coloured, small brown head, alcohol in the nose. Heavy roasted malt, infuse of alcohol, chocolate, licorice and dried fruits with mild notes of coffee and vanilla in the finish. Decent BrewDog.
