From bottle. A very good beer. Nice bitterness. A very cloudy beer. Dark golden with a creamy head.

Pours brownish red with a foamy head. Aroma has some strange notes, also malts, hops and fruits. Taste is quite heavy with malts, caramel and exotic fruits. Quite bitter and slightly sticky finish. Alcohol warms in the finish. Quite well balanced, but a bit boozy.

Bottle: Reddish-amber coloured, big and relatively stable off-white head, very solid fruity-hoppy nose (berries, citrus-fruits) and herbal (juniper-like) piney hops; very soloid bitter and slightly sweet flavour, full bodied, quite soft; lingering piney-grapefruity (hops sticking to the palat) and caramelly-fruity finish. Rich, aromatic brew.....

Bottle @ home, courtesy of adnielsen at adnielsen’s house. Cloudy, burnt orange brown appearance with a big cream colored head. Resiny, orange citrus piney nose. Huge piney, mildly resiny, slightly citrusy, moderately bitter, caramel malty flavor. Caramel, toffee, piney aftertaste.

Very red beer with lots and lots of black dots in it. Smells hoppy and sweet. Tastes like wine, hop and alcohol.

Speckeld medium to dark red color, probably yeast residu in it, with an off-white head. Lot of hops, pretty sweet smell. Very hoppy taste, pretty alcoholic also. Thin texture, full body, pretty strong carbonation, but it suits this beer. Nice bitter finish.

Bottle at Brewdog Bar Aberdeen. It pours dark red amber, with a thin foamy beige head and moderate carbonation. The nose is pine, resin, varnish, caramel and grapefruit. The taste is resin, wood, orange, grapefruit, varnish, caramel, toffee and alcohol warmth, with a long dry-bitter finish. Nice stuff.

(bottle, 65cl) Hazy, dark amber colour with a tall and slightly beige foamy head. Fruity an piney hoppy aroma with notes of pineapple, grapefruit and juniper berries, accompanied by a mildly sweet malty touch. Bitter and slightly sweet flavour, with a dry mouthfeel, medium to full bodied with a pleasant carbonation. Aromatically fruity and piney hops character with a very long lasting bitter and dry finish with a cornucopia of hoppy flavours shining through, while the alcohol is perfectly hidden. Great. 08.VII.11

Deep chunky, hazy ruby tinted body with an amber glow and a deep toffee colour and a thick, dense two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pungent strong cascade hops, a lot of malt tucked in, some minor sweetness and a bit more resin and grassiness. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong toasted malt flavour up front with an insane amount of hops coupled with a large alcohol finish, some oaky dryness and a little sweetness wedged in the middle. Aftertaste is potent, strong, harsh and unforgiving - the warmth feels like you’ve just gulped a glass of gin and chased it with more juniper berries - the dryness hits like a cotton ball or oak rubbed up against your tongue and the hops show grassy and herbal notes like being stuck in the woods for a week. Needless to say, this one is very potent and the 65 cL bottle doesn’t help this one bit. Overall, a strong and potent beer that shows its alcohol fairly openly - a nice beer for the style but way too much for the size of the bottle. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Olive Tree Marketplace in San Diego, California on 08-February-2011 for US$6.59 sampled at home in Washington on 09-May-2011.
