Can: pours black with beige head. Vanilla, loads of coffee, spices chocokate. Taste is lightly boozy, but generally the coverage is great. Not very sweet. Chocolate and spices. Quite solid.

16 ounce can - what kind of evil motherfucker packages something like this in a one pint can? - anyway, I didn’t realize how strong this was when I bought it, so I probably shouldn’t have had another beer before I opened it - this pours viscous black with a dark tan lace - nose has a fair amount of fusel alcohol but also smoke, leather, black cherry, chocolate - it’s sweet, but not cloyingly so as you might expect - a lot of smoke and dark malt bitterness to balance (like A LOT of smoke) - savory umami character, which might make this a divisive beer, as many view this character in such a beer as tasting like “soy sauce” (I do not) - some chocolate and subtle lactose sweetness before a mildly acidic and coffee-like finish - the nose is less inviting than the flavor, but it’s quite good for something so strong.

This beer pours an inky black color with a medium tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roast malt, vanilla, chocolate and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, fudge, vanilla and spiced fruit. The finish is roasty and sweet with malt and vanilla aftertaste. Good beer all around.

16 ounce can. Motor oil black color. No discernible head. Big roasted malt nose. Notes of vanilla and espresso. Bittersweet chocolate upfront. Big heat from the massive 17% ABV. Thin bodied for such a big brew. The high ABV dominates the palate. Impossible to drink a full 16 ounce can, so share with friends.

16oz can for $5. I thought I knoew what I was getting with a 17% stout but I was surprised but the light and overly acidic black malt beer. All the sweetness came from the adjuncts, which are present but not overwhelming. Thinner, lighter and overly sharp acidity made for an unpleasant experience.
