Molson Brewmasters have created a new standard in smoothness with Molson Golden. Each batch is brewed with pure spring water and features a unique two part hopping procedure. Galena hop essences are added in the brewing kettle, followed by the addition of a patented, mild hop after fermentation.

Here’s one of those after hockey beers that I stole to take home to analyze because of my OCD behavior.
Here’s my take.
Into a pint glass, the appearance was a super light yellow to golden amber color with a decent half finger-ed white foamy head.
The smell had some roasted corn huskiness to it.
The taste was semi-sweet and showed a semi-decent crisp grassiness about it.
The palate sat fairly light and showed a great deal of sessionability about this one.
Overall, this is just another AAL. Cheers.

Bottle @ home tossed via courtesy of BlackIPA. Tasted during the Pussypete presents Molson/Labatt Grand Tasting 2013 in my parent’s basement. Cheers! Pours a clear yellow appearance with a creamy white head. Big sweet corn, lemon, sweet grainy, a touch tangy, fairly inoffensive aroma. Decent body. Lots of corned candy, cotton candy, and bubblegum. Fucken easy chugger.

Update of an old tick from 2013. Bolson Molgon. Golben Mogden. Not quite a pale lager but not quite an ale. More flavour than water.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow gold with small frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is honey and corn malt. Thin mouthfeel with a strong skunk flavor and grass. Not much going on with this one.

Bottle. Skunky aroma, and I seriously mean skunk... as in the animal. I suppose it might qualify as a sour malt aroma, but my first impression was skunk. Clear golden with a large white head. Stale malt flavor and some other "off" hops flavor I couldn’t really put a name to. Light body. Drain pour.

Originally rated December 2005. I can’t believe how many people have reviewed this beer, and most being Americans. Here in Canada, Molson Golden is not really popular. It pours a golden colour with a medium white head. Retention is low, lacing is there and carbonation is also happening. The aroma is malty and the mouthfeel is smooth. Mildly bitter, with the taste of malt in the background. Not too sweet, not too bitter. Clean aftertaste and no corn found. A good 12 pack to buy from time to time.

12 oz. green bottle. 50¢ loose @ Binny’s. Another cheap, loose megabeer with lots of skunk under the cap. Skunk persists after pouring. Pale gold color, kicks up a big rocky head. Taste to start is at least bearable, but the oxidation stays in the nose. Fizzy and gaseous. Not quite malt in this, but some bitterness. I’m just not sure what this is. Some sweetness at the end.

Pours a pale yellow straw in the glass. Nose and taste are corn, cereals and slight bitter. Not very good. Rated 1/13/2000
