Winter Warmer. A rich, full-bodied winter warmer crafted in the British tradition of holiday beers. This deep mahogany colored brew balances complex fruit flavors with a refreshingly smooth texture.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, fruit, and a bit of spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, yeast, fruit, alcohol, and malt, leading to a dry lightly butterscotch finish.

Nutty molasses aroma, some chocolate notes present. Opaque brown, thin beige head. Vinous, medium body. Woody and dirty with a light cherry tartness. Dusty and vaporous finish. A strong english brown. Not bad.

Dark brown color; small head. Average caramel aroma, and light spices. Dark caramel flavor, lean body; the final is disturbing: too much roasted malt and ashes, but, mostly, too bitter. It’s not pleasant.

6 oz sampler pour at the Seattle location of the brewery. Pour is mostly clear cordovan brown with slight ruby, no head - only a trace of light tan. Aroma is malty, mildly sweet in a caramel and toasty way. Restrained nose, but fresh and clean. Taste is malt, not as sweet as the nose, more of a dark chocolate and mild roast. Pine hops and some straw show up in the aftertaste. Palate is medium bodied, above average carbonation, clean dry finish. Nice enough.
