Review from notes, sampled 1/17/2008 Pours a solid black with a tan head that leaves some lacing on the way down the glass. Aroma is malty with some caramel and coffee mixed together with a little fruit. Taste is a creamy coffee with some fruits and a citrus hop bite at the end. Medium body and mouthfeel. Very easy drinker, I could not notice the alcohol. Great brew, I hope its not really retired because I’d love to enjoy this again.

Pours with an opaque black body that throws up a tall tan head. Coffee, chocolate and roast malts all come easily to the nose. Starts sweet, then roast malt bitterness becomes the finish. Smooth and creamy.

Dark black pour with a tan head. Rich, creamy stout. Regular stouts that aren’t imperial don’t get much better than this. Rated 5/13/04

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a thick, tanned head and subtle lacing. Nose is roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Taste is a rich blend of coffee, cocoa, bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, and oats. Very typical flavors of an oatmeal stout, but rich and lingering finish. A little bit of hops bitters in the finish with lingering coffee aftertaste. Thanks JCB for sending this tasty treat.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, dark brown with a reddish hue and a delicious, creamy, beige head leaving laces. Aroma of lightly burned malt. The body is medium with very dry, burned malty notes and a touch of coffee. Ends dry also. Courtesy of xproudfoot. 120207

Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, hops, and coffee. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, as well as lighter notes of alcohol and grapefruit, leading to a dry roasted end with notes of oatmeal lingering around. The body is a bit on the thin side inspite of the 6.8% ABV and the oatmeal.

Very dark brown pour, with a creamy, lasting tan head - aroma of coffee and cream, hot cocoa, a bit of vanilla, and background plum hints - smooth mouthfeel, medium body - drier than most sweet stouts, with quite a potent espresso bitterness to it - cocoa and chocolate pudding come later, along with a hint of toffee - semi-dry, moderately bitter finish - quite nice.

12 oz bottle.."deepest caramel on the pour"-quotes the whore...you can see it...yeah its gonna be a creamy one....hops on the aroma(possibly dry hopped?)...ahhh creamy as anticipated...coats the mouth like a blanket created from pure stout...its almost hard to discern the flavor when so in awe by the palate...but I do get a clean nice chocolate malt resonance and a slightly dry finish...

No prevailing aroma. A drinkable stout that lacks the total bitterness of the regular, foreign and imperial stouts. I was hoping for something a little sweeter, for a sweet stout. Very dark with little carbonation. Finish is slightly bitter & lasting. Hides it’s alky content well.

Bottle. Had this a few months back. Dark brown color, with a large off white head. Aroma was malty, and the flavor was the same with some bitterness.
