12 ounce bottle courtesy of beerbill. Thanks! Best by July 2008. Pours a slightly hazy bronze color with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. Very fruity hop aroma, especially grapefruit and green apple. Taste is very bitter with grapefruit and other hop notes as well as a hint of toffee. Medium bodied.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a huge orange-white head. The aroma was fairly strong fruity and floral hops. The flavor was sweet, malty and had fairly strong fruity and spicy hops. The beer turns a touch sour towards the finish. Better than the sum of it’s parts and nicely quaffable.

Bottle from Chevy Chase Liquors, Washington
Hazy amber color, nice lace. Strong earthy aroma, medium mouthfeel, dry caramel flavor, reasonable hopping. It’s like a crossover between an English IPA (bitter but not as much as an American one and without fruity/resiny hops) and a good English Bitter (the earthy hops).

Deep Amber coloured body with some hazy orange highlights and a large tan head - this actually looks like a good IPA! Aroma of skunky malt, metal, blood, nuts and a tiny bit of hops, this one does NOT smell like an IPA or even a beer with a single dose of fresh hops. Medium-bodied; Sharp assertive metallic flavour up front with a tiny bit of hops, but mainly grapefruit and pine flavours - not reminiscent of hops. Aftertaste shows foul malt, skunky sugars and a tiny bit of hops. Overall, I kind of expected a bad beer - but this one was a little worse than expected. Definitely not recommended, unless you’d like to see a cheesy example of how not to make an IPA. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chesapeak Gourmet in Queenstown, Maryland on 14-September-2008, sampled on 05-October-2008.

A hazy amber ale with a thick frothy off white head. Aroma of freshly picked chinook hops, and light berries. In mouth, a good hoppy solid pale ale, with British hops, light grapefruit bitterness, roasted malt, medium bodied. Bought in a garage somewhere in Upstate NY.

12oz bottle pours a tan amber with a foamy, rocky slightly beige head. Only mild citrus in the aroma, a little lemony with some orange with a fair amount of sweet bread hanging about. Flavor was just as mild, more citrus, some darker, chewier grains and a little spice. Slightly sweet, slightly bitter finish that’s a little watery. Very drinkable for an IPA but nothing to differentiate it from plenty of others in the market.

12oz bottle-pours a pours a big rich foamy off white head; and gold color. Aroma is husky grain, citrus-some lemon/earthy hops. Taste is husky grain/medium malt with some sweetness, some herbal/earthy/slightly bitter hops. No citrus comes through in taste. The taste comes across as an English Ale. OK carbonation. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

Pours amber into a shaker. Fluffy off-white head recedes to skim surface. Slight resin and pine aromas. Thin with english hops from front to back. Not a hop bomb.
