Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Subtle sliding lace.
The aroma had some toast, nutty sweetness and crisp roastiness, some milk chocolate and then caramel/toffee malts.
The flavor blended fairly well between the nuts and caramel/toffee malts. Chocolate lays further back in this department. Pillowy smooth sweet nuts and caramel/toffee malts in the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt good as projected.
Overall, good English styled brown ale worthy of having again.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours dark amber with a decent foamy beige head. Roast caramel and "nutty" aromas. Med body. Flavor is that roast caramel with dirt typical of a brown ale. There’s some definite bitter behind the malt. So it’s pretty balanced and arguably more bitter than malty. Pretty clean for a brown.

On tap. Poured a slightly hazy brown with a caramel brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of bread notes with a bit of nuttiness and sweet grain backing. Flavor had a bit more nuttiness which joined the bread note that had a bit of sweetness to it.

0.33L bottle, a nice touch dense stable head, crystal clear deep brown to burgundy colour, aroma of nuts and coffee with some herbs, flavours of coffee and hay with nuts and herbs in the back, strong but mellow bitterness, long bitter sour aftertaste. Excellent session beer.

Bottle. Beer of the Month club. Reddish brown color with a medium beige head. Aroma of hops, with some citrus, flowers and pine hints, malt, chocolate, cookie and toast notes and some caramel. Flavor starts sweetish with malt, caramel, nuts, some cookie dough and light fruitiness, then turns bitter and hoppy, somewhat earthy, with some grapefruit notes. Medium-bodied. Decent.

From my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark red-brown color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was sour nut, light fruits and a touch of roasty malts. The flavor was bitter and roasty with undertones of toasted caramel, wood, apple and smoke. The finish was dry, bitter and woody. Slightly thin in body. Ok.

Below average nut brown. Light hopped with hints of caramel and toffee. Not much to go around. Very light. Did I say it was light? Rated 9/22/09

Bottled as "EBC Nut Brown Ale"@Oliver Twist.
This is probably brewed and bottled at Southern Tier. Deep ruby color, small white head. Bready and nutty aroma. Bready, caramelly, a bit nutty flavor. Bready aftertaste. Simple sweetish brown ale.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm (brewed by Souther Tier). Clear nut brown, small head. Perfumy hop aroma. Sweetish and fairly light bodied with clean mouthfeel. Floral hoppiness, not much roastiness. Medium bitterness. Behind the shiny hop surface there is not much to discover.

Bottle@Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is nuts, fruits, some sweet nectary notes as well as caramel and slightly burnt wooden notes. Flavour is quite much the same, but also has some mild metallic notes to it.
