Thanks to Aaron for sharing - fairly black pour, with a slight, soapy lace - nose is highly tannic, red wine notes, with some chocolate truffle and cherry character - flavor is quite the same - a lot of chocolate truffle and cherry flavor, with light notes of oaky tannins and red wine - finish is lightly acidic/tart, with a little alcohol heat - nice.

Bottle @ Armin’s house. Brown appearance with a light brown head. Rich bourbon, cherry fruitiness, slight berry, oaky, light toffee aroma. Tangy, dark cherry/strawberry fruity, dark caramel, toffee, fairly boozy flavor. Pretty strong finish but pretty tasty.

Bomber from jrallen34. Thanks a bunch guy! Pours a very dark brown with a foamy/bubbly tan head. Aroma is earthy/ bretty. Mildly bretty. Regardless of the description, it seems that way to me. Full bodied. Very light carbonation. Flavor is vinous, followed by some vanilla/bourbon. There’s some dark fruit. It’s lightly sour. It’s oak astringent. Chocolate pops up. There’s just a lot going on with this. Oh, complexity - that’s the appropriate word. Gets more bourbon/vanilla in the finish. What a great beer. Heat is not noticeable to me. Delicious.

…and another Jackie O’s courtesy of markwise. The bomber pours dark mahogany with tan head. The aroma is a bit fruity with cherries and prunes and then rolling into molasses, cinnamon and graham cracker stuffed into boozy fudge brownie. The taste is very complex with cherries and a bit of tartness that grows into firm tartness with some caramel at the edges. I also get some fudge and dark roasted coffee from time to time. Nice and complex brew where a pleasing balance is attained and some tartness heads off into the after taste.

Bottle thanks to exiled (2010 68/300). Pours with an extremely deep brown body and brown head. Aroma is very fruity with hints of cherries, plums, smoke, graham cracker, cinnamon, vinous, nutty, and earthy. Flavor is fruity spicy, vinous, cinnamon, ash and black berry... ONCE you get past the ruining flavor which is diacetyl...everywhere. Huge butterscotch and buttered popcorn. Ruins what would have been a great beer. Medium bubbles.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery during the 5th anniversary party. Poured a hazy, really dark brown with a gray head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had dark grains with a bit of roast. There was a bit of caramel as well as hints of raspberry and vanilla. Flavor started with roasted sweet grains and a bit of bourbon. Those notes were joined by a growing raspberry and vanilla note with a slight tart finish.

On draught at the brewpub, served in a snifter. The beer pours a very dark brown color with some amber highlights. Medium light beige head that recedes to an outer ring eventually. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, oak and fruit. Medium to full, smooth body with an oaky and dark malty character along with notes of tart berry and chocolate. The finish is rich and malty up front with a lingering tart fruit aftertaste. A lot of different stuff going on here, but I like it.
