Vom Jubiläumsbier zur Stammkraft – unser E.T.A., rauf und runter ein echtes Dunkles. Es wurde 2008 anlässlich des Jubiläumsjahres „200 Jahre E.T.A. Hoffmann“ für die Mahrs Bräu nach altem Braurezept hergestellt. Dass es dann einen Stammplatz bei uns bekommen hat, muss einfach an seiner Würze, seinem unterschwelligen Schokoladenaroma und seiner dunklen, nussbraunen Farbe liegen. Das fanden unsere Gäste nämlich von Anfang an großartig.

Brown color with tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, a bit spicy. Taste is roasted malts, chewing gum, nuts. Very silky mouthfeel. A very good Dunkles!

0.5 l bottle at Sheridan’s Pub, Zagreb. Dark brown with reddish tint, small off white to tan head. Raisins, caramel, dry fruits. Light body, nuts, caramel and raisins. Sweet, malty. Light sweet finish. Disappears quickly. Nothing special.

Bottle at home, 7th November 2015. Pours dark brown, some fluffy head. Aroma slight metallic, spice, smoke. Taste is smoke, dark fruit, slight metallic, really easy to drink. Liked it.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges and a foamy head. Biscuity, malty and fruity aroma with notes of raisins, sultanas and grain. Malty, grainy and slightly sweet taste with raisins, sultanas and porridge detected. Easy to drink but a bit too sweet for me.

Tap at the brewery. Dark brown with orange tints, tall, pillowy, off-white head. Fruity nose, apricot, raisin. Slightly metallic flavor, chocolate, raisins, pear. Light, easy. Decent. Earthy finish.

Pours a dark brown color, topped with rather small but fine tan colored head. Nice combination of roasted malt, caramel and biscuits in the aroma. Taste starts sweet, caramel and chocolate presence, roasty body with mild bitterness. Easily drinkable and enjoyable.

Draft at Hopfenreich. Pours clear reddish dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of light roast, caramel, toffee and some biscuit. Flavour is light to light moderate sweet and bitter. Light to light medium bodied with soft carbonation. Decent session beer.

Malzig in der Nase, Karamell. Im Trunk süß, sehr malzig, setzt sich im Abgang fort, dann matt. Ein Malzibier mit Alkohol, sehr süffig.

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear dark brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, mild roasted malt, toffee and nuts. Taste starts with sweet caramel and mild roasted malt, following is bready, nutty and mild fruity with moderate bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Pleasant easy going dunkel...
