Like me? A beer humanist lager lover differentiate between hop types? heheh, indeed. Smells a little clean with a fishy hint. Big giant dull hop biting flavored pine tar taste buds. oh my . On style. Tastes more like 7%. I bought the deconstructed barn on this series. Mouth coating oily bitter beer drinken experience. Perhaps borders on imperial status. ; nasty rude rubberry awakening for a human.

Vertical tasting of all six beers in the Sam Adams Latitude 48 Deconstructed variety pack. 12 oz bottle into shaker. All pour clear copper with medium sized heads. Leaves a nice blanket of foam and some creamy lace. Aroma is bread, caramel, metal, earth; the bread and caramel aren’t as strong as the Ahtanum. Taste is bittersweet (the sweetness dominates) and lightly tart. The earthiness really comes through in the taste. Has a nice creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation and body. This one is probably the second best of the six.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-amber with a huge foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was faint vague fruity and floral hops. The flavor was bitter and tangy with light vague fruity and floral hops and touches of perfume and caramel. The finish was long, bitter, fruity and floral. Medium body. Ok.

Latitude 48 IPA mixed pack. Poured a golden, almost copper color with a medium but a relatively fast reducing head. Looking like this might be the weakest of the group judging by ratings, and by my tastebuds. It’s certainly not bad, and I’d hesitate to say "one dimensional" when there’s only one hop in the beer. Mellow hop aroma, touch of citrus, earthy, malty notes. This one reminds me a bit of a few homebrews I made a while back, unrefined.

Filtered orange-tan. Creamy off-white head. Description is pretty accurate..earthy apricot aroma, very mild. Mild citrus tones, imparts a classic resiny feel. A solid, but not overwhelming hop flavor, with a toasty malt backbone...maybe a touch too thick to let the hops really shine. Clean and easy, an enjoyable beer.

Pours clear orangish amber color with tan head. Aromas of earthy and grassy hops with some caramel. Flavor is earthy, floral and a little dank with some sweet maltiness. Medium body with average carbonation. My least favorite of the series.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a slight gold hue and an off-white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a nice earthy hop note with some grass as well as a bit of light citrus. Flavor begins with some grassy hops but has a bit of a tropical fruit that comes out in the finish.
