Big fucken canned @ home via John’s Grocery courtesy pete. I’ve never had a Big Cock. Slightly hazy dark orange appearance with a disappearing tan head. Sickly sweet, cotton candy, tropical fruity, slight chemical aroma. Cardboard, papery, twangy fruity, goopy caramel flavor with a bitter finish. I put some Big Cock in my mouth but I couldn’t bring myself to enjoying Big Cock to completion.

Pour is a dark red with a average white head. Aroma is very sweet but has enough hops. Flavor is again sweet malts are the first thing I get. Some hops eventually show up. Very heavy and sweet with a bit of alcohol showing up. This was just ok.

Location: Can at Paul's Blind Impy Stout Tasting, 1/5/13
Aroma: The nose is resiny hops hops, with some pine and citrus
Appearance: Pours a caramel-orange color with a small head and drippy lace
Flavor: The taste is a bit sweet, mostly hoppy, nicely resiny flavor
Palate: The body is medium, leaning a touch light, with a smooth, clean feel
Overall Impression: I thought this was surprisingly nice IPA with a really solid resiny feel to it. It was much better then I expected when I first saw the can. It was also a much need hop hit in the mists of an Imperial Stout tasting. Finally, it helps my tick the state of Iowa. All-in-all, a success canned IPA.
