Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear copper-amber color with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, candies, vanilla, a bit of coconut and fruits. Sweet flavor, malty and candy-ish, with vinous notes and lots of vanilla. Medium-bodied.

Bottle. Pours reddish amber with off white head. Nose/taste of candied fruit, oak, vanilla, malt, toffee and citrus. Medium body. Nice beer.

New Beer Distributors, NY 330ml ($3.25): Pours a light amber with a quickly dissipating head. Oak, vanilla, and malt are the two things going on in the aroma. There is definitely a strong barrel-aged taste throughout. Hops are very light. Malts are proper. Easy to drink and interesting enough as well.

Thanks to Rogueone for sharing a bottle. The beer is a clear dark amber color with a thin off-white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is malt, oak and caramel. Medium body with flavors of sweet caramel, oak and bready malt. Slight hops in the background. The finish is clean with a short oaky aftertaste. Decent overall.

[Bottle from Beers of Europe] Chestnut with a large beige head. Rich and oaky throughout, with butter and vanilla in spades. Some toffee, a little red wine, but mainly the oak. It may be a little sweet and sticky for some, but I do like these beers, even if their special editions such as this are simply minor variations on their standard theme. Good stuff.

Bottle pour into tulip. Big, fine, persistent head. Aroma: vanilla and whiskey. Taste: candied fruit, vanilla; sweet oak on the aftertaste. Very interesting, but I am glad I didn’t buy a six-pack.

My 1000th beer. Annoying since I reckon there were a good 30 to 40 I got too pissed to read, so should’ve arrived here a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, pours amber with a thin head. The nose has balsalm would and caramel. The taste has lots of wood up front, then a cream note with nuts in the finish. The palate is quite well balanced, a creamy texture build into a big structure in the middle section, then it falls away with relative elegance. Overall, happy to drink this.

Pours clear copper color with white head. Fruity aroma with some caramel and oak. Caramel flavor with some nutty and fruity notes with hints of oak. Medium body with soft carbonation.

Pours deep amber into a tulip. White head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Sweet hay, oak and summer fruit aromas. Sweet oak and toasted caramel upfront turning to tart fruit before the lasting mild earthy peat finish.
