American Wild Ale is the brewery’s sour beer aged for over a year in a used French oak wine barrel. For the last three and ½ months of the barrel aging process, 85 pounds of fresh-pressed whole merlot grapes were added to the barrel providing an amazing dark amber color and producing a fruity but balanced sour beer. 7% ABV.

GABF 2013. Pours a lightly cloudy yellow orange appearance with a white head. Huge fucken cheesy, vanilla, very funky, oak aroma with a touch of pear and white grape. Lightly tart, cobweb, tangy lemon lactic, cheesy, pineapple flavor with just a bit of lasting acidity. One of my favorites of GABF and damn near as good as Colorambic, which is quite similar in flavor and complexity. Chill brew.
