Adam from the Wood is our Adam aged in American Oak barrels. First released in 2000, and released again in November 2011 in 12oz bottles. This 12% beer has lots of the typical HOTD aromas: Caramel, brown sugar, tons of raisin and tobacco. Fig, date, and plum fruitiness in that order. This has a fairly strong earthy vinousness as well as oak vanilla.

Had this one at Borefts, from the tap. An excellent beer, with an extremely complex aroma and taste - chocolate, coffee, vanilla, macerated fruits, apples, pears, grapes, cherries, cherry liquor and so on. Super smooth mouthfeel with a heavy bourbon taste that I enjoyed quite a bit.

Had this after trying Cherry Adam From The Wood and Adam From The Wood - Rye Whiskey. Dark brown pour, almost black, completely flat. Smells like apple brandy, cherries, plums, figs, cocoa, vanilla, bourbon and alcohol. The taste is very well balanced and quite complex, with notes of coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate up front, followed by cherries, raisins, plums, figs, vanilla, maple syrup, brandy/bourbon. After a while, I can identify some tobacco in there, as well. Very smooth and silky texture, especially due to the complete lack of carbonation. Sweet, bourbony, aftertaste. Definitely a world class beer.

Kochsgade Friday afternoon tasting in November. Black with a tiny off-white head. Intense and complex aroma with licorice, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, oak and plenty dessert wine. Sweet and extremely rich flavour with mild dark flavours, and perfectly balanced wood character
