On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a clear, near black hued body with a foamy off-white head. Great lace. Aromas are roasty, leathery, mild esters, and a bit floral. Flavors are biscuity, honey, light roast, currants, mild esters. Very inoffensive. Light bubbles, creamy. Decent for what it is.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a deep brownish-black color with a medium beige head that recedes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and sweet malt. Medium, dry body with a lightly roasted coffee flavor as well as smoked malt and chocolate. The finish is a light dose of espresso with a malty aftertaste. Above average overall.

tap at Denver ChopHouse - Pours near black and has the expected dark roast malt aroma. The roast malt flavor is joined by some coffee notes and then some hops in the finish. It’s medium to full bodied and overall pretty good.
