On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a clear, near black body with a retentive tan head. Aromas are bready, grainy, roast, chocolate, spice and light coffee. Flavors are of coffee, roasty, medium bitter, smooth. Medium dry, slightly fuller body than expected for the abv. Pretty decent.

Sample at the brewpub. The brew pours nearly black with a medium thin and creamy light beige head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, coffee and toasted grain. Medium, creamy body with flavors of roasted coffee, sweet chocolate and mild hops. The finish is smooth and malty with a roasty aftertaste. Decent overall.
