We're best known for brewing aggressive, big-character beers, but we love a great sessionable ale as much as anyone. Most beers at the less-weighty end of the spectrum lack flavor and depth as much as they lack high ABVs, but not Stone Levitation Ale! This deep amber brew has a rich maltiness, big hoppy character, citrus overtones, and an impressively modest alcohol content for a beer with so much flavor packed into it.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden with some residue, and a finger thick creamy head. Aroma is hoppy pine and orange peel, with sweet caramel malt in the back. Flavour is bitter with orange peel, and fruity hops. A nice thirst quencher, which stands out in the low-ABV segmet.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear chesnut brown with a broken white head and minimal lace. The aroma is rich and of malt and hops which follows into the medium bitter, slightly metallic and watery flavour. A decent beer and quite refreshing, but it’s been copied by many others and the world has moved on.

Bottle 0.355l at home. Colour is clear amber with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Floral, fruits, hops and bitterness.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich caramel, toffee, malt, hops and fruits. Probably a bit old, since hops havefaded a bit.

Bottle. Slightly hazy dark amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit, toasted and hops. Flavour is malt, caramel, medium sweet, hops, toasted, little pine and a little bitter.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a creamy large orange-white head that slowly dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine and caramel. Flavor is about the same, line sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied. Pretty decent for an amber ale. Perhaps would be a red IPA if such a style existed.

Bottle at Bishops Folkis, February 2013. Clear amber with a medium white head. On the sweet side with toffee, malt and some hops. Nothing sensational but easy to drink.

Pours reddish copper with good initial foamy head and decent lacing. Aroma has medium hops smell and a little crisp malt. Good for style, but not amazing. Taste leaves some bitterness. Average carbonation. Bottle.
