We're best known for brewing aggressive, big-character beers, but we love a great sessionable ale as much as anyone. Most beers at the less-weighty end of the spectrum lack flavor and depth as much as they lack high ABVs, but not Stone Levitation Ale! This deep amber brew has a rich maltiness, big hoppy character, citrus overtones, and an impressively modest alcohol content for a beer with so much flavor packed into it.

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a cloudy brown with an off white head. Caramel notes in the nose. Flavors of toasted malts. Short finish.

Tap at the Stagshead and a nice change of pace from the huge beers i was samplin. Pours amber with citrus and malt nose. tastes of caramel, grapefruit, grass, yeast, and pine.

Hazy brown body with an off-white head. Stronh hoppy flavour (grapefruit, citrus). Heavily bitter, lightly sweet flavour. Not perfectly balanced - mouthfeel somewhat watery. Nevertheless drinks quite easily. Nice.

Bottle at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 30/09/12. Pours a hazy amber brown with a few floaty bits. Big caramel malt dominated nose, hops and fruity tones. Taste follows exactly. Medium bodied with a little spritzy carbonation.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; pours dark brown with red tints frothy 2 finger beige head. Aroma definitely has citrus, grapefruit, piney hops. Tastes of citrus wine sweet malt background. Session strength really good beer.

355 ml bottle @ Patricks. Practically clear amber body with a moderate sized off-white head. Quite light, but nice citric aroma, peaches, grapefruit, pine and caramel. Fresh anf fruity flavor with soft malt, pleasant bitterness and citric fruit. Medium body and medium aftertaste. Nice and easy to drink beer, but a bit to plain for wanting another.

Bottle, at Patricks. A clear, amber beer with a small, off-white head. Lightly piney on the nose, some caramel and citrus. Rather weak, but pleasant. The flavour is quite similar, followed by a nice bitterness. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. Mostly bitter finish, with some caramel hints. A quite pleasant one, easy drinkable. 120823
