Deep amber in color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness.

0.33l bottle from myBrewerytap. This is a near-clear glowing amber-red beer with a nice medium sized and lasting creamy head that's leaving heavy lacing down the glass. It has quite a malty aroma with tones of caramel, biscuits, tomatoes (yeah I know) and leafs. Nice non extreme, and a bit unusual for a american pale ale - aroma. So calming flavors! I just had this extremely sweet beer, so this was just what I needed now. Fine and elegant bitterness well balanced with a malty base that has some grassy tones and hints of soap in the finish. Yeah, a fine pale ale. God, they have long texts on the back of their bottles them Stone 17.02.2012

Bottle from Chester Beer & Wine. Dark orange pour with a middling yet persistent tan head. Fragrant nose of fruits, sweet malt and piney hop. Fullish mouthfeel. Flavour wise, the caramel malt, hop balance tilted slightly in flavour of the malts, but still retained some reserved but decent grassy hop bitterness and some pleasant fruitiness. Overall this is a solid if unspectacular brew.

Aroma: Honey, caramel and lime notes.
Appearance: Hazy amber body with a thick, beige, lasting head. Light carbonation. Nice lacing.
Taste: Citrus, earth, peach and pine flavours. Well balanced and not too aggressive.
Palate: Medium body with a slick, oily texture. Soft carbonation.
Overall: Not in the same league as Stoneβs IPA, but a decent enough beer.

Bottled 355ml (Beer Hunters, BB 01/2012)
Deep, clear ruby color, small off-white head. Bready-hoppy aroma, also a bit fruity. Light to medium bodied. Light fruity citrus in front, then heavy hoppy (for a pale ale) aftertaste. Pale ale with punch.

Bottle (may have been old). Strange marzipan-like aroma. The taste is very green, lots of grassy notes, and citrus. Medium bitterness.

25 cl. draft @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas β the selection of Stone beers at the Stone vs. Moeder beer festival was pretty much fantastic but ever since then they have been trying to keep a pretty good choice of Stone beers around, solid bottle list and rotating Stone beers on tap are ever present now, they plan to keep this going until December, pretty nice \ typical Stone-colour, red amber with a creamy white head \ Smell is lots of bitter grapefruit hops, pine resin, pure hop with a strong malt base and some spice \ Strong caramel base especially when it warms up you are getting a lot more sweetness in the smell and taste, sweet caramel and sweet fruits, mainly peaches and apricots (the yeast?), kind of wished that they would have tried bringing this flavour even more into the foreground because I love it so much but this is a pretty great pale ale as it stands now, also definite sweet yeast, plenty of slightly sweeter spices in the yeast, , slight bitter grapefruit taste playing in the background \ Medium body & slightly above medium carbonation, very drinkable, like the sweeter side of this one quite a lot, would make a great session beer
