You know summer is here when we think about one of our favorite beer styles, a good Hefeweizen! We put a mild twist to it though and added 120 pounds of pure honey from “Noble Bee Honey.” Roger is our local beekeeper right in Amana, IA! You will pull the spicy banana flavors of the hefeweizen with a hint of cloves added that comes from the honey. This unfiltered wheat beer is full-bodies with mild hop bitterness and a hint of coriander. Enjoy the warm smooth feeling as you savor this beer.

Bottle at Blipp’s surprise tasting. Pours murky gold with no head. Nose and taste of banana, cheap honey, clove and wheat malt. Medium body.

12oz bottle. Murky reddish-tan. Thin head that fades out into a tiny oily trace after a few minutes. The honey sort of rounds out the sweet banana aroma, pretty mild. There is some noticeable alcohol, I’d guess 8%+. More honey notes than anything, has some mead characteristics. An interesting concept beer maybe, but has too much sugary sweetness going on, not enough balance. An interesting beer to try, but sort of a mess.
