Sampled from the tap at Navigator Taproom. Pours black with an earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark grains and strong roasted malts with a hint of smoke and bitterness. Flavor has a nice dark grains and slightly Smokey roast with a bit of bitterness in the finish.

Draft at Spiteful Brewing. Poured a very dark brown color, nearly pitch black. Roasted malts, chocolate really shines through on this one. Roasted finish. Light earthy notes. Easy to drink. Really pleasant.

Refrigerated bomber poured into a tulip. Dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is bourbon, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is smooth ke, dark malt, and some ash.

Brown to black with red edged. Translucent from top to bottom. No head. Smells of licorice molasses cocoa and honey. Tastes of burnt wood, cocoa, cream, sugar, clove.

Sample at Paddy Long’s in Chicago. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium thick beige head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing. The aroma is malty with coffee and chocolate notes. Medium boy with flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and subtle hops in the background. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Can@Yespr’s - black pour with tan head. Aroma and taste is toasty roasty malty, with notes of chocolate, caramel, oaty, nice bite to this, very nice.
