First beer of the new year, purchased at Bottles & Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home reading Tortilla Flat during the start of the first snow storm of the year with my cat puking in the background. This is a pretty nice brew, the raspberry addition is welcomed, rich in chocolate but not overpowering. Would happily enjoy again.

Sampled from the cask at GTMW 2016. Pours a cloudy brown with a bubbly brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy dark grains, roasted malts and a decent amount of raspberry. Flavor has sweet dark grains and raspberries with some earthy roasted malts underlying.

Bottle. Pours black with reddish tan head. Nose and taste of fresh raspberry, roast chocolate malt, roast coffee and earthy berries. Dryish with berry sweetness in finish. Medium body. Well integrated.
