Typical, unpasteurized Dutch spring bock, orange blonde in colour, with a caramelly and bit honeyish main character, fruity, soft, gentle and sweetish as any Dutch spring bock should be, finishing in an elegant hoppiness. Light and a bit frivolous, one of the better examples of the style, at least as far as the larger brands are concerned.

Bottled, 2014 edition (I’ve had many editions in the past). Dark golden (towards amber) color, clear. Off white head, not much. Aroma’s of grain/malt, caramel, light fruit. Malty sweetness, grain, flowery retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, malty, with fresh hops. Medium bodied. Finishes with a delicate bitterness. Quite true to the style (= like a German Maibock).

Tap at the Brouwcafe, Scheveningen. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is big yeast light malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a yeast malt woody aromatic floral hop palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A nice tasty beer. Not too much wrong with this as far as session ales go.

Clear deep amber colour, thick foamy off-white head, good retention, good lacing. Sweet malty nose, aroma of caramel, nuts, hint of honey, bread, floral hops, citrus. Taste medium sweet and soft malty bitterness. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, smooth light bitter finish. Nice example of the style.

Clear amber with medium off-white head. Very very malty, cardboard, some spices and light peach/apricot. Quite sweet, with metallic bitter finish. Medium bodied. Like strong cheap lager.
