Bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with hazelnuts

Inspiration can come from unexpected places. Initially created for a gastronomy dinner in 2012, Grey Monday was an appreciative complement to our hosts' epicurean craft. An ease to the Monday blues, this decadent treatment of Black Tuesday features Oregon-grown hazelnuts. Toasty and nutty characters play off bold yet smooth complexity in this bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. Pair with inspiration to evolve your craft this week!

Zajebisty aromat. Melasa, burbonowa beczka, czekolada, ciekne owoce. Piekny ryli. W uscie niestety duzo pusciej. Alko przyzwoicie schowane acz rzeczjasna obecne.

Bottle shared at our Novi share. Thanks superspak! Pours a pitch black with a quickly dissipating half finger of brown foam. Big bourbon focused nose with cacao nib, roasted coffee and chocolate malt aromas. Toasted hazelnut Frangelico notes as it warms. Boozy on the palate with lots of bourbon heat and chocolate. As the alcohol fades the hazelnut lingers. A beast of a beer.

Dark brown color. Virtually no head. Decent hazelnut, vanilla, oak, sweet molasses, brown sugar. Massive bourbon, hazelnuts have subdued and body is modestly thin. Boozy, but not massively so. Still very sweet. Warming finish. Just big. Not bad, but not a masterpiece

8-3-8-3-15 On tap @ What’s Brewing, Stavanger. Pours dark, cloudy brown, with a tiny, rocky head. Aroma is dark malty notes of bread, dark fruits, molasses, and liquorice, as well as wooden barrels. Creamy body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is dark roasted malts, with tobacco, dark liquorice, and dark fruits, as well as tobacco and bourbon barrels. Sweet malty notes in the finish.
