Bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with hazelnuts

Inspiration can come from unexpected places. Initially created for a gastronomy dinner in 2012, Grey Monday was an appreciative complement to our hosts' epicurean craft. An ease to the Monday blues, this decadent treatment of Black Tuesday features Oregon-grown hazelnuts. Toasty and nutty characters play off bold yet smooth complexity in this bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. Pair with inspiration to evolve your craft this week!

From bottle at the Well. Pours pitch black. Chocolate, liquorice, deep plum, cranberry, vanilla, coffee, nutty coffee, Ferrero rocher, dark chocolate, red fruity finish. Slick fortified wine like body. Incredible.

750 ml bottle at share, courtesy of Toby. Pours out the normal, but nice retention on the head gives it a better look. Aroma is nutty, but a bit too much like flavoring and not real nuts. Still good. Lots of vanilla, chocolate, roasty notes on top of a velvety feel. Really superb, and aged well.
