Dark doesn’t always have to be scary, and this beer is a great example of that. This 6% ABV ale has a silky smooth mouth feel due to a large addition of wheat. Malt flavors of chocolate and subtle toast are backed by a woody hop character.

Draft. Deep brown body. Tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, molasses, light char, coffee, light dough. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A sweet porter, but well enough balanced. Tastes of chocolate, brown sugar, roasted malts, light coffee.

Location: Draft at VBGB, 2/24/15
Aroma: The aroma of this one is roasted malts, chocolate, some earhty hops, and bread
Appearance: It pours a brown color with a tan head and some decent lacing
Flavor: The taste follows suit, with a good malty character, and some decent bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, with a pretty nice overall mouthfeel to it
Overall Impression: I thought this was another solid, enjoyable, well-made beer from Wicked Weed. A nice example of the style. No complaints.
