It might sound like an echo, but it’s not. This collaboration with Stillwater Artisanal explores the true depth of Mango flavor. Three layers of taste and aroma from fruit and hops. Go Mango!
If you’re going to put fruit in a beer, there’s no better fruit to use then mango. At least that’s what Magnus here at Dugges Bryggeri says. So, when there was time for another Dugges x Stillwater Artisanal collaboration, Magnus posed the idea of a mango beer to Brian of Stillwater. Turns out, Brian had the same idea about mango and beer as Magnus. So, we set out to do a mango solo! To make it a sour was a no-brainer. We’ve got nothing but love for our sour collaborations so far, and we wanted to continue exploring that. Said and done, with mango flavor from two types of mango fruit and from mosaic hops we did it. Mango, mango, mango!

(330ml bottle from Systembolaget web order) Pours a hazy medium gold with a tiny head that instantly fades to nothing. Aroma of fresh mango, mango juice, floral passionfruit-ish and peach, quite fruity overall, touch of piney mango skin, little citrusy lactic acid, touch of sulphurous funky feel. Flavour is crisp, tart, mango flesh, light mango juice, moderate lactic acidity is lime-heavy and low on yoghurt. Very fresh overall, a little wheat and light bready pale malt, a little grassy hop, finish is fairly dry with lingering mango and lime. Light bodied, above average prickling soda pop carbonation. A barley Berliner, basically, it's nice and fruity but mango x1 rather than x3 in my opinion.

Draught at Beerlovers Bar in Antwerp. Collab of Dugges with Stillwater, a mango-themed sour ale with two mango varieties actually used and reinforced by the tropical fruit character of Mosaic hops. Medium thick, moussy, egg-white head with stable edges and opening middle, lightly hazy straw blonde robe with warm peachy - or should I say mango-like hue. Aroma of mango juice indeed, unripe mango flesh, lime juice, sourdough, yoghurt, overripe gooseberries, green apple, mojito, banana peel, stewed rhubarb, pineapple juice, starfruit and some 'old hops urine'. Fruity onset, sour impressions of gooseberry, raw pineapple and unripe pear - mango sweetness not being all too apparent actually, but a very specific fruit flavour is all around here and cannot but represent the used mango (or mangoes). Carbonation is fizzy and minerally, prickling (a bit much); soapiness and 'clean white' breadiness underneath. Soapiness and sourness linger, with this specific mango aspect woven through; apple peel and starfruit notes join in, as well as a yeasty accent; ends sour and sweetish at the same time, aromatic thanks to the Mosaic and lime-like. Interesting sour with a nice and (for a kettle sour) relatively complex array of flavour layers - Dugges never disappoints.

Tap at Beerlovers bar. Pours blonde, decent white head. Smell is fruity, bit wheat, mild acidity. Taste is dry, mild acidity. bit of wheat. Of course some fruityness. Very much like a berliner weisse, surprised it isn't called one.

Szinte semmi hab, narancssárga szín. Mangós, narancsos, savanykás illat. Savanyú, mangós, enyhén narancsos ízek. Könnyű, erősen szénsavas, alig keserű. Kellemes, frissítő gyümölcsös sör.
