We hit this full bodied IPA with “nookie” four times during the brewing process to give this ale its trademark Chinook hop character.
We then “dry nookied” this flavorful ale to further enhance its grapefruit and pine aroma.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 1/2014. Slight gusher upon opening. Pours hazy deep orange copper color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, tangerine, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate malt presence; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pine resin, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Sizable pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pine resin, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice bright citrus/pine hop flavors with a light malt presence; with a fairly dry finish with no cloying bitterness. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very crisp and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. Good complexity of bright citrus/pine hop flavors with light malt presence; and very crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Split a 12oz bottle with friends. Poured an amber color with a small white head. Aroma was earthy hops, lightly roasted malts, some light fruit characters. Flavor had caramel notes, earthy malts, some bitterness. May not have been the freshest, because it was lacking in the grapefruit and pine notes.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Wexford, PA. Pours a hazy bronze color with floating particles and a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus, resin, pine, candied citrus hops and caramel malts. The taste is intense pine, resin and citrus hops with mildly toasted caramel malts. Medium bodied.

This brew pours a cloudy golden color with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus and hops. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, roast malt and a touch of caramel. Medium bodied with flavors of hops, grapefruit and a bit of malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Orange with a white head. Aroma is full of citrus, sweet tropics, pine, and light sweet malts. Medium bodied. Fresh hop flavor of light grapefruit, citrus, and a bit of pine hops. Lightly sweet yet dry finish. Quite a nice, refreshing, tasty, easy going IPA.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks David’s friend! Slightly hazy orange-amber. Aroma of tropical fruits and piney hops. Flavor has a bit of graininess and lots of slightly fruity hoppy bitterness. Medium-bodied. OK.

So, it was only a matter of time before the cheapie came across this in his hood. A new local company with fanfare. Had this on tap at the Burghs Pizza & Wings in Bridgeville. Big foamy pour that had to be poured off a couple of times. Orange light brown with a slight haze. Alabaster head. Olfactory is your typical slightly dull floral hop aroma. Quite rude initially tho not extremely over the top. What else can be said about this IPA? Its an expected IPA. Oily soapy mouth coating withouit much carbonation, terrible for a lager lover but on style, heheh. If you like IPA better try this gem. Possibly borders on the IIPA style, but don’t all IPA? Looking forward to trying a few of their other beers within a style to my liking.
