The concept was to create a juicy tropical beer. A brew you can sit on and drink all day, rammed with juicy malts and huge tropical aromas of mango and grapefruit. Massive additions of whole leaf American hops are added in ever increasing numbers at the end of the boil giving huge hop flavour. The beer is then dry hopped for days, driving the punchy aromas so you can smell it from miles away!

Old rating from Aug 2015 - On draft. Pours a amber colour with a thick creamy white head. Aromas has lot of fruits, citrus notes & hops. Tastes of grapefruit, some resins, caramel notes and hints of fruits. Aftertaste has medium carbonation with grainy notes of fresh fruity hop and clean malt coming through. Very enjoyable

Can at home, thanks to the BPBW crew for this one. Pours deep orangeish with white head. Nose is resinous hops and biscuity malts. Taste is sweet malty upfront, then closing with a gentle bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation, easy to drink. Nicely balanced.

From tap at The Brickmakers Ale & Cider House, Wien. Aroma of fruits, malt, citrus, herbal spicy notes, some caramel, hops. Flavour is moderate to medium body. Good use of Magnum and Bravo, less than common hops for an APA. Exemplary balance and body. Smooth and interesting.

The Easter Road in Edinburgh is not too far to walk to away from the centre, and you'll find a vibrant suburb of the city where you can watch local rather than tourist life. I enjoyed this strong but enjoyably sweet tropical fruity brew in a pub on that road. I've had it before of course but sometimes it's not just about the beer
