Thanks Adrien for sharing. Pitch black bomber. this is an insanely dark beer. small espresso head that faded fast. Smells pretty awesome! Lots of bourbon, wine barrel, chocolate and fudge. smells a little bit spicy. There is a lot of flavor here. It’s very boozy, tons of chocolate. The barrel presence is shining though. The rum and bourbon is huge.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 10/27/2014. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, molasses, toast, dark bread, bourbon, spiced rum, oak, raisin, plum, light smoke, light vanilla, and roasted/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, dark fruit, and bourbon/rum barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, molasses, dark bread, bourbon, spiced rum, oak, raisin, plum, light smoke/char, light vanilla, and roast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of roast/char bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, moalsses, dark bread, light smoke/char, raisin, plum, spiced rum, bourbon, oak, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, dark fruit, and rum/bourbon barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very creamy, smooth, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with a fair amount of warming present after the finish. Overall this is an incredible double barrel aged imperial stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, dark fruit, and bourbon/rum barrel flavors; and fairly smooth to sip on for the huge ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

22oz bomber pours with a nice mahogany colored body that supports a thin dark tan head. The aroma offers up molasses, chocolate, dark roasted malts and then bourbon, vanilla and oak and then booze. The taste starts boozy and bourbon and then it gets into spicy vanilla, molasses, chocolate malts, dark roasted malts and then spicy black licorice. To midway it gets pretty darn smooth and silky as more chocolate notes come to the surface before boozy bourbon barrel rolls this into the finish. Pretty tasty sipper.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes leaving scant lacing to mottle surface. Molasses, vanilla and oak aromas. Thick with sweet vanilla and toffee upfront turning to hot chocolate before the lasting rum burn.

Bourbon dominated nose, but with peanut and prune underneath, fairly strong. Black, medium beige head, good lace. Prune, charred oak, and dark choocolate, licorice, lots of bourbon. Rum and charred oak is more prevalent in the finish. Full body, moderate carbonation, and hellishly boozy. Drinks like nearly 20% ABV. Great complexity, but holy shit tone it down!

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a slight dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate, bourbon, alcohol. Full bodied. Flavor is a bit ashy, but chocolate, bourbon, dark treacle and a little alcohol. Label indicates rum barrel, but I can’t find that among the main massive flavors. It is somewhat spicy, so perhaps that’s from the rum. There’s either a lot of complexity I can’t decipher, or there really are only a few flavors. Doesn’t matter. It’s pretty tasty stuff.
