Tap (0.22l) @ Sori Taproom, Helsinki. Black beer with minimum head. Aroma and particulary taste has dark malts, ripe fruits, berries, coffee and chili. Also some warming alcohol exists. A bit like portwine feeling. The end is spicy with chili burning on the tongue. Nice mix and good balanced "portwine with chili".

(Keg at Sori Taproom, 20171127)The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had bell peppers, burnt malts, liquorice and dark chocolate. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, dark chocolate, coffee, burnt malts, ash, vanilla and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, sweet and bitter with chilli burning. A too sweet brew with nice bell pepper aroma.

Appearance- utterly jet black, opaque, a small brown head which quickly vanishes. Aroma- tons. Dark chocolate, fudge, whisky, tiramisu, coffee, vanilla, woody roasty dark malt, rum, booze-soaked dark fruit. Taste- lots of rich, dark chocolate, coffee, chilli heat, vanilla, chocolate biscuit, dark malts, woody malt, oily slick mouthfeel. Boozy raisin, Christmas cake, dark rum. Peppery chilli heat to finish. Great.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Vanilla and coffee aromas. Thick with sweet milk chocolate and vanilla shake upfront turning to warm chile before the lasting espresso finish. I like all those things...

Bottle. Color: Pitch black, no head. Taste: An earthy explosion of espresso, dark chocolat and notes of vanilla in your mouth. Lightly hints of peppers, luckily not overwhelming at all. Bit boozy, but less than expected for a 13 percent beer. Overall a full body and all the flavors are very well balanced. Also remarkable mild for an imperial stout, no harsh flavors. Very nice beer to enjoy slow sipping at a relaxing moment.
