On tap @ Beer Corner. Black color, beige head, short retention. Aroma has notes of black ripe fruit, light coffee, sweet roasted malts and spiced wine. Flavor with a high presence of alcohol sweet wine, ripe fruit, coffee beans. Good balanced of alcohol. Final is light sweet, roasty mouthfeel.

Tap at BeerTemple, 3rd August 17. Pours black, no head. Aroma hits you, dark chocolate, coffee, dark sugar. Taste is intense and immediate assault. Dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, wood, then some chilli kick. Right on point.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that left decent lacing. The aroma was bitter and roasty with cocoa, vanilla and hot peppers. The flavor was cocoa, hot pepper, marshmallow, vanilla and sweet toasty malts. Long finish. Thick, full and creamy body. Excellent.

Dark, it’s a stout! First thing you really notice is a heavy syrupy chocolate nose, a little background espresso and roast. Longer sniffing bears out a hint of chili spice. Sweet and full up front, yielding to a surprisingly modest body on the tongue. Initial flavors are chocolate and caramelized malts, coffee follows, and the chili is just a hint lingering in the finish. Oily coating in the mouth. Bit of an acrid black patent malt at the end. This is really heavy, a 6 oz pour would be enough!

Pours dirty brown from the bottle. The tan head fizzes and fades. Aroma is coffee with hints of paprika and pancake restaurant. Not sure what the latter comes from. Probably I’m picking up the vanilla. Taste is bitter, peppery, but with an sweet vanilla undertone. Finishes like it tastes. Body is full and heavy, a bit oily. Excellent!

Bottled 355ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Marko, thanks. Pitch black, small to medium sized brown head, chocolate and whiff of chili in the nose. Chocolate mousse with notes of chili, vanilla and dry coffee. Some wood presence with mild chili burn in the finish. Well balanced and enjoyable brew, so far the best of my 2017 beer ratings.
