Sample during the Armageddon tasting at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 12/20/2012. The beer pours a pale golden color with a medium thick fluffy white head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of spices and bready malt. Medium body with flavors of earthy yeast, sweet spices and malt. The finish is herbal with a slight floral hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle. Pours with a very hazy, nearly milky golden hued body with a massive head, great lace and very sound retention. Aromas are spicy, dried pineapple, alcohol, sticky, dry esters, thistle, stone fruit, hoppy. Lots of CO2 in the nose. Flavors are dry, white wine, medium bitter, herbal, hoppy, thistle, grainy, woody, rustic, earthy and bone dry. Some floral and tropical fruit hop character. Dry and very drinkable despite the ABV. Low citrus, but quite lemony as it warms. Lingering peppery phenol. Very lively bubbles, dry, low bodied, warming. Fusel alcohols become stronger as it warms.

750 mL bottle. Pours a hazy, pale gold with a huge, fluffy white head. The aroma is orange peels, butterscotch, rye, and coriander. The aroma is citrus sweetness up front, with a significant hoppy bitterness in the finish. The palate is medium, sticky, grainy, and fairly bubbly. Overall, this is a strong, well hopped, very citrusy beer. This is not as complex or subtle as I would like but still a good beer.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with big white head. Nose and taste is fresh lemons, hay, grassy and floral hops, citrus, spicy hops yeast and light bread. Finishes dry and slightly spicy. Medium body.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours dishwater orange gold with a 4 finger frothy off-white head. Aroma is quite farmyard with light pitted fruits. Near med body. Flavor is soft and lush farmyard/sour with nice light fruits. Finishes farmyard and dry.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head top hats and sea foams as it recedes leaving clumpy lacing. Lemon and yeast aromas. Crisp with bittersweet caramel upfront turning to citrus in the lasting bitter finish.

Draft @ CBC 2012. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a white head. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty aroma with weak funky hints. Fruity malty spicy yeasty citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty finish with weak hints of citrus.

Tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration, 2012. Slightly hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, yeast, spices and a little citrus. Flavour is malt, fruit, yeast, spices, medium bitter and medium sweet.
