Big, bold, hoppy & gold... Built sturdy enough to withstand the Apocalypse, but delicate enough to sip and enjoy all night.

Bottle from Voldby (thanks for the share Niller) pours a fuzzy golden colour with a thin white head. Sweet fruity and yeasty, lovely citrus lemony flavour throughout, floral nuances aplenty. Beautiful

12 oz bottle. Aroma is doughy, funky, lemony, grainy, cheesy. Pours hazy pale golden with a white head that recedes fairly quickly. Taste is earthy, sweet with a bitter finish; has a nice dusty presence. Finely carbonated with a medium body. Good beer, but it’s not blowing my load or anything.

21.05.2014, 0,35l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is mild floral, flowers, yeast, bubblegum, citrus peel, weeds, hay, washwater, wheat, dried fruits. Taste is slightly harsh floral, weeds, flowers, yeast, citrus peel, hay, dried fruits, washwater, grass, wheat, bubblegum, cardboard. Medium bitterness, slightly dry harsh mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.

Tap at Haymarket (thought it was a one-off). Hazy yellow tan. Has that Pils look in a way. Steady, foamy, off-white head. Not sure what to think of this one. High fermentation temperatures notes, odd, funky, borderline off. Kind of tastes like a juiced imperial pils. Some mild but sweet banana clove notes. Mild and wacky herbal tones. Not dialed in, an odd beer. Certainly has some nice Belgian yeast tones and a pleasant noble hop balance, but this just doesn’t come together. Not commanding the premium price. Herbal saison-tripel-golden. Unique, almost has an old school belgo-feel, which I can appreciate. Grew on me a little.

Bottle from Whole Foods Westlake, Seattle; bottled 12/13/13
Hazy golden color with medium sized creamy head. Aroma of pale malt, soap, plastic, spices; why the soap and plastic?
Smooth mouthfeel; pale malt flavor with a light cereal tone, light residual sweetness, and evident spice profile, although it takes a bad turn, with evidence of anise and soap; bitterness just a bit above the Belgian average.
In my book, another fake Belgian beer, or a pure American style that I don’t fancy. I’m glad I didn’t pay much for it.

Bright golden coloured body with a hint of orange and copper, all with a three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, sugar, yeast and tons of honey - a very bright and assertive smell. Full-bodied; Strong herbal flavours with a perfumey kick and then showing a lot of curacao, coriander see and yeast - pungent throughout the flavour. Aftertaste shows a very well-rounded, rich, malt-directed beer with some herbal and floral notes showing and a hint of alcohol burn at the end. Overall, a nice and rich tripel with some good herbal, perfumey and especially grassy kicks near the end. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased a few minutes ago at New Beer Distributors in New York, New York for US$3.25 sampled on the same day, on the train to Washington on 25-April-2014.

Bottle at Dig. Soapy nose, lemon, milk, honey, alcohol burn. Clear golden color with lace. Malty flavor, honey, citrus, bread. OK, like a pretty straightforward tripel.

Bottle at the Stillwater event. A clear deep yellow shining gold. A great yeasty full spicy aroma. A smooth med-full bodied beer. A really tasty beer that has benefied from getting to room temperature. Fruity, spicy, funky goodness, I feel it is actually tastier warm than cold. It probably jumped up at least .2 while warming up.
