Appearance is nearly black, with a small beige head which quickly goes. Aroma is treacle, banana, sugary dark fruit, bready malt, caramel. Taste- caramel, toffee malt, burnt dark fruit, raisin, hint of boozy heat, toffee and chocolate, fruitcake, clove and banana undertones. Bitter undertones through and lots in the finish. Good stuff.

Melano, intensywna przypieczona skorka od raziwca w uscie. W aromacie duzo mniej intensywnie. W tle jakies ciemne owoce? Nieco przyprawowosci? Ciekay klasyk, i ryli najsik niemaly for mi

Cask at Southampton Arms. Very black coloured with small beige head. Aroma is cherry, booze and christmas pudding. Bit of a solvent/spirit smell too. Very full on. Taste is very sweet, more booze, marzipan and rich dried fruit. Full bodied and bit oily in the mouth. Not as exciting as I had hoped.

Can from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Pours hazy black with a small, slowly thinning, beige head. Aroma of toast, biscuit, milk chocolate, caramel, candied fig & dates, kahlua, mocha, prune. Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, biscuity & caramelly character enveloping notes of prune, fig, dates & faint banana, nutty edge with a slightly bitter, herbal & toasty accent. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering toast, biscuit, dried dark fruits, some warming but subtle liqueur alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Great stuff, very Christmassy & traditional.
