Our favorite double IPAs are all about citrus flavors, so with our Westbrook collaboration we wanted to pack as much grapefruity. hoppy goodness in there as possible to further bolster the hop profile. The addition of fresh grapefruit zest took the labor intensiveness of this beer another level, but we think it was worth it and hope you do too! Cheers! Scott, Rich, and the Westbrook Crew.

Bottle @ Scooper Tasting in Ulfborg. Pours cloudy orange with airy off-white head. Intense, bitter aroma, with plentiful sweetish, fruity notes. Sweetish, malty and fruity flavour, with regular notes of hops and hints of citrus. Bitter and sweet-sourish aftertaste. Nice.

Bottle @ Invasion U.S.A, Ulfborg 2013. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Citrus and caramel. A bit of yeast. Too malty. Had hoped for the citrus/hops to be more pungeant and dominating.

On tap at the Brick Store Pub. Pours slightly hazy gold, with a medium, frothy, off-white head. The aroma is intense grapefruit, orange rinds, caramel, and vanilla. The flavor is very balanced sweet and bitter. Heavy body, sticky, and a little chalky. Overall, this is a nice citrus bomb of a IIPA. Nicely balanced flavor.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a medium off-white head. Nose brings out loads of fresh grapefruit zest, loads of citrus, and a piney hop blast - wow, exquisite aromatics. Flavour brings out loads of juicy citrus fruits, grapefruit zest, and again, a huge piney hops blast. Very citrus, zesty and hoppy, with just enough malt backbone to hold it all together. The malt comes through as you drink more, with a touch of sweetness to balance the hops and everything else. Finishes dry, zesty and hoppy, with little astringency. Has quite a creamy full body which is unusual for the style, but it works well. A most wonderfully crafted IIPA.
