The shroud cloaks away excess layers of flavor to create a smooth finish. The century and a half old Belgian Dubbel is a brown abbey ale famous for its rich malty taste. At Burial, we took it up a notch by using our house belgian strains over a number of temperature zones to provide a unique ester character. The Shroud is brewed with 6-row pilsner malt, Belgian dark crystal and chocolate malts and traditional dark candy sugar to give it that much needed bubblegum snap.

Sample at the taproom. Amber-brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and fruit. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, fruit and earthy yeast. The finish is malty up front with a fruity yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft - Raisin and dark fruit. Cloudy brown with a decent white head. Sweet caramel caramel and twig. Like an off bitter rather than a double.
