Tallboy can purchased at the brewery with 8.2% alcohol printed on can. Total pitch black color within lasting had in a snifter. Aroma is mild pine, chocolate, and mild charred grain.

The body is medium with mild roast/ char backbone. Bitterness in the form of pine but in a very subtle way. This Black IPA / CDA is very approachable. Not over the top or overdone in any aspect.

Pint can. Dark brown color with a thick tan head, lots of tan lacing. Nose is piney and roasty, some sweetness and smoke. Different taste than the CDAs I’m used to, but different can be good... Smoky and light sweetness go with the moderate roast and piney hops. Smooth and silky. I’d probably lean towards this being a schwarzbier rather than a Black IPA... a blend of styles at most. Drinkable for sure.

At the source: cask: pours black with a brownish head. Aroma is chocolate and floral and fruity hops. Taste is very mellow and warming without being aggressive soft but complex in its own right.
