On tap at Braustelle, Koln, Germany, Friday 28th March 2014 Dark amber (but a very tricky light, quite gloomy) so cannot be certain of colour. Very much like a UK ESB but with a nice German malty profile, not sure of the hops either but perhaps these are also German. Fruity with a good malty ’soreen’ bite along with a steely enduring but far from harsh bitterness. A very tasty decent Alt. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.8

Bottle. A lightly unclear one, brown in color and with a dense, light tan head. Toffee, prunes and some charcoal in the aroma, nice but a bit weak. Chocolate, cocoa, toffee, prunes and some bitterness in the flavor. Medium body and a nice carbonation level. Some bitterness in the mostly malty finish. Overall, a pretty nice one, but I’m not convinced. 140110
