2nd December 2008. Cloudy brown beer. No real head. Smooth and very nutty with a nice subtle chocolate. Not particularly sweet but nor is it bitter. A really nice nutty tasting Alt.

Hazy dark amber with a medium beige head. Sweet and somewhat malty aroma with spices. Sour flavour with milk backteria, not lacto and toasted malt. Finished sour.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and quite a lot of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, lemon, and malt, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy orangey brown with a creamy off-white head. Very tart, fruity nose. Medium body, a little sweet caramel but completely dominated by a massive sourness - as unfortunately so often with the bottled Braustelle beers. Sorry, but this really is a mess. 151109

Bottle, 4.8%. Roasted aroma. Cloudy brown colour. Small tan head. Citric flavour, almost like a wheat beer. A bit of lemon. Not an Alt of course, and not good either.

At GBBF 2009. On tap. Cloudy brown, rubbery on aroma, syrupy malt in mouth. Not fully attenuated and not particularly well made.

(swing top bottle) Hazy, dark brown colour with a huge and dense tanned foamy head. Sweet and moderately toasted malty and slightly nutty aroma with caramel and flowery, slightly herbal hoppy notes. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate, well-matured carbonation. Toasty malty and slightly yeasty taste with caramel, malt-bonbons and subtle fruity notes in the background; sweet-bitter malt-accented, slightly grainy and fruity finish with a discreet flowery hoppy touch. Frisky interpretation of an Alt from Cologne, that actually tastes more like a Dunkel (12.VIII.09).
