Draught @ Gasthaus-Brauerei Braustelle, 50825 Köln-Ehrenfeld, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.Light unclear medium brown color with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, roasted, nutty, caramel. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Hand bottled and given to me by Koelschtrinker - Vielen Dank. Sweet barley malt and yeast aroma. Cloudy orange-brown color with moderate head. Lightly smokey malt with hint of orange. Pretty light body. A nice tasting, easy drinking beer - but like others have said, not characteristic of an altbier.

Ein gutes Altbier aus Köln? Kaum zu glauben! Es schmeckt weich mit malzigem Unterton, mild aber nicht wässrig, ausgewogen, perfekt! Es wird wohl nirgendwo anders vorkommen als in der Braustelle dass ich anstatt des eigenen Kölsches ein Alt bestelle.... Diese Bewertung ist unabhängig davon, dass das Bier überhaupt nicht wie ein Altbier schmeckt, ich würde es als Dunkles einordnen...

Tap, at the brewpub: Slightly hazy, amber coloured with a medium-sized head, that sticks to the glass; estery, fruity,"green", slightly bitter nose with traces of sweet dark malt; light sweetish-bitter flavour, a bit sourish; light bodied; short fruity-estery finish with traces of bitterness. A rather poor and bland Alt.........
